“I felt so honored to be chosen as a Publicly Engaged Fellow (2023/24) and the experience has given me the opportunity to pursue my own research interests allowing me the freedom to create a project that supports my learning and academic goals. Working and engaging with our community helped me see my work as more than theoretical and offered a space to create new (and hopefully, lifelong) connections. Looking beyond the scope of the project itself, the work I accomplished here also promotes opportunities to share in conferences and future publications as well, continuing the conversation beyond the scope of the initial project goals. It has been a wonderful experience, and I have had fun with this project.”
